I was keen on testing Atis 3 in thermal, comparing to other gliders, but it came different. Norma is a very nice, historic small city on a hill, 20 kilometres away from the sea. We made just few flights, strong wind from the wrong direction and later always rain were the reason. The temperature was much nicer than in the alps, also when it rained. But with our group with 15 people we had fun and enjoyed the Italian way of life. Drinking, eating, relaxing – but we already left this place on 5th January. The way back to Austria was not that nice, snow in the Toscana made the highway to a dangerous place. Maybe this was the reason that one pilot (“Försterliesl”) preferred to go back by train…. Hope we will have the next time there more luck with the weather!
