We had the chance to test the new Anakis – overloaded we flew through the Italian sky; and we loved to cruise in the weak thermik with this wing – it was like a nice kiss!

At takeoff the easterly is being held back by weak thermals. Cloud base is low, but the signs are looking good. Preparation time. Glider out, chocolate and drink into the harness pocket, check the cell phone and radio. Small clouds are starting to speckle the sky and its time to go.

When we came to this flying party of the Flugschule Salzkammergut in St. Gilgen at the nice Wolfgang-lake the weather looked not so good.

I have my two wings and camping gear down to 27kg! Still over the weight limit for my flight into Beijing from Hong Kong, I guess that i will be wearing all of my clothes on the flight. The last couple of days in Canada were good flying days. The 30min hike through snow to the launch at McKenzie basin in Pemberton gives flights that are only limited by how much of the cold you can take.

The nice weather gave us good flights, the rain in the afternoon gave us nice chance to enjoy BBQ, beer and flying stories. I was espacially happy to see many Sky gliders in the air!

Some photos of the recent Barberton Nationals (PG).90 Entries, 5 Valid tasks, JOe on the ERIS3 RS, (4th Overall in OPen Class). Wallis did a great job with the Ares2 (Overloaded by 10kg) to come in 5th in Serial Class. Well done to all..!
